Clare Gee’s fictionalised memoir, HOOKED,
has been
published by Mainstream Publishing. The book is set in London
during the 90s and
early 2000s and is filled with explicit depictions of the naughty
antics that go on in so-called private members’ clubs in the Capital:
drugs, sex, prostitution and lots and lots of booze and let’s not
forget the very real aftermath of excessive indulgence.
Nothing is held back. HOOKED
is a brutal and graphic account of what it
really is like being a prostitute and the emotional collapse that can
ensue when someone chases happiness in all the wrong places.
As seen on This Morning (ITV).
Out now (Mainstream Publishing).

PUNK FICTION is edited by Janine Bullman and has a foreword from legendary guitarist Johnny Marr. The book has been published by Portico and is a tie-in with Teenage Cancer Trust. PUNK FICTION is an anthology of short stories inspired by Punk. The idea came from Janine Bullman, a music PR at dynamic and newly established Notorious PR (www.notoriouspr.com), whose list of clients include Johnny Marr, Bloc Party and The Rakes to name a few. Janine has edited and contributed a story to the anthology.
Contributors, mainly writers and musicians, have been hand-picked from the generations following the Punk revolution; those who were positively influenced by the movement rather than those who played an active part in making it happen.
Their instructions were simple - pick a song that inspires you and write. There are over 30 stories in the anthology and will feature stories by:
Kele Okereke, John Niven, Paul Smith (Maximo Park), David Gaffney, Max Decharne, Kate Jackson (The Long Blondes), Billy Childish, Salena Godden, Laura Oldfield Ford, Joe Stretch, Krissi Murisson (NME ), Stewart Home, Kate Pullinger, Peter Wild, Nicholas Hogg, Joolz Denby, Lydia Lunch, Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Ed Larrikin (Larrikin Love / The Pan I Am), Devonte Hynes (Lightspeed Champion), Laura Barton (Guardian) and a foreword by the legendary Johnny Marr.
Teenage Cancer Trust will receive £1 from every copy sold. The book 's publication coincided with Teenage Cancer Trust’s charity concerts at The Royal Albert Hall in April 2009.
"The standard is, at times, superlative – Janine Bullman ...write[s] with gut-churning incision and emotional rawness." Pat Gilbert, MOJO
That’s all from me at present. Check back soon for more news about our up-coming projects. Remember keep it creative.
