Keith was born in St Andrews and studied medicine at the University of Dundee in Scotland. For many years he lived and worked in Yorkshire, within arrow-shot of the ruins of a medieval castle, the scene of five of his historical novels in The Sandal Caste Medieval Thriller series published by Sapere Books. He and his wife now live in Stratford-upon-Avon. He is a retired doctor, medical journalist and novelist, writing in several genres. In addition to his historical novels he writes The Inspector Torquil McKinnon Mystery series, westerns as Clay More and non-fiction and medical books as Dr Keith Souter.
