Reviews for Behind The Gloss:
“Tales of craftsmanship and creativity, love and loss, abound in this extraordinary straight-from-the-horse’s mouth tribute to the 1970s. Before fashion became big business, this was the era where low budgets didn’t cramp anyone’s style and desire to be their absolute best. Inspiring and well crafted, huge congratulations to Tamara for compiling such a rare and shining star of a memoir of this very special time.” Kathleen Baird-Murray, British Vogue
“Behind the Gloss is a delicious and extraordinary look at 70s fashion. Fashion will never again be as it was in the 1970s, and Tamara’s fascinating interviews with the most influential tastemakers of the time — many of whom would go on to impact culture for decades to come — create a stunningly vivid image of a remarkable era.” Amy Odell, author of Anna: The Biography
“The 1970s heralded a momentous change in the fashion industry and nobody tells it better than those who have shared their personal stories in Behind The Gloss.” Deborah Joseph, Editor-in-Chief, Glamour UK
Tamara has always been passionate about the gloss and glamour of the 1970s and has a deep knowledge of the fashion of the decade. As a result, she will be able to give revealing and informative talks on the subject of Halston and the history of American fashion.
“I have worked with Isabel since 2015 and have seen four books brokered by her for me. She is the most wonderful agent any writer could wish for fighting their corner. I value her continued support, advice and friendship.”
